Federation Square (known locally as Fed Square) is a unique cultural precinct in the heart of Melbourne. There’s always something on – it’s a great place to hang out and watch all the action especially on New Years Eve. Approximately 100,000 people visited Federation Square on NYE 2013, Instinct Events and Entertainment provided some of Melbourne’s best entertainment.

Working in conjunction with Federation Square Corporation, Instinct designed and delivered the nights entertainment.
Offering music that could be performed acoustically was critical to the brief, as a precaution against the loss of power.
Family friendly, multi-cultural and inclusive talent selection was also required.
A bit about the Outdoor Entertainment for Federation Square’s New Year Outdoor Concert 2013
The line-up for NYE at Federation Square had something for everybody, very family friendly and lots of fun.
Included in the mix; Avatar an all original instrumental outfit of two acoustic guitars backed by a hot rhythm section provide everything from explosive latin fusion, old time grooves and reflective ballads. Next up The All Colour Project, modern pop world Electro beats with soulful vocalists and carnival style percussion, full of colorful costumes and free expression, celebrating the new year like only they can.
Next up Urban Spice one of Melbourne’s funkiest bands, they just oozed talent, energy & vibrancy. The crowd grooved along to their energetic dance sets.
Last but not least the DJ came on to really get the party goers up and dancing.
