Being Different is Great. Making a Difference is Better!
The team at Instinct Events & Entertainment greatly believes in giving our best efforts.
Last year, whilst providing entertainment for an annual fundraising ball for Anglicare, Instinct’s Managing Director Richard Sayer saw first hand the amazing difference this organisation is making.
“Upon hearing the passion of it’s CEO and the amazing Anglicare team to make real change, and learning the impact one beautiful dog can make in the lives of many children, we immediately wanted to be involved” said Richard.
“ When the opportunity came along to to sponsor “Zeus” the therapeutic dog with Anglicare, we simply couldn’t resist. As avid dog lovers “Team Instinct” know the difference an animal can make in someone’s life. The work Anglicare does with disadvantaged Victorian children, young people and families to transform futures was something close to our hearts. Let’s face it, we bring our dog Django to work every day. I cant imagine going through life without this connection, love and kindness”
Zeus – the therapeutic dog helps to bring a smile to young people living in care. As an important family member of Anglicare’s program. All of the children get to spend time with him. He is great at knowing what each kid needs and working out how he can help.
By having an animal in the home with a calming nature, it ensures the young people are not focusing only on themselves, as they’ve become engaged in caring for and providing responsibility for someone else.
“Zeus’ presence has been essential for regulating behaviour, as well as helping kids settle into school classes and transition into day-to-day programs, which they had previously struggled with. Animal therapy is a significant way to help children overcome trauma.” – Says Anglicare
While families all over the world are sharing valuable time together, sometimes this just isn’t possible for all kids. Zeus provides companionship for kids that simply don’t get that opportunity to connect with their families.
As the state’s largest provider of out-of-home care services for disadvantaged Victorians, Anglicare ensures that children and young people can access safe environments.
The core of Anglicare Victoria’s work remains the commitment to providing nurturing homes for children and young people who are not able to live with their families for a range of reasons.
They provide a home to more than 340 Victorians each night, and can only achieve this with the support of dedicated staff and passionate volunteer carers. Zeus is in integrated part of that, and helps the kids to feel loved, wanted, and special.
If you would like to join Instinct in supporting Zeus, or another dog, Anglicare would be thrilled https://giving.anglicarevic.org.au/
Go on!! It feels great to make a difference.
