What hasn’t changed is our need to communicate, run meetings and events and have people enjoy the process rather than fall asleep!

SPECIAL INTERESTS
Richard has long cultivated a passion for all things history but it is the personal stories of military exploits, losses and tactics that fascinate him the most. This in depth historical knowledge combined with Richard’s gift of word-smithing and unending love of stories makes him an unusually ideal candidate for interviews with veterans
His ability to succinctly explain the historical context of events was seen on two occasions in Gallipoli where the nationwide broadcasts covered the recent centenary. Richard’s ability to empathise with and make comfortable veterans who are not used to speaking in public creates interviews both personal and revealing.
Richard likes to joke that being a son of a nurse is like having a qualification! It has certainly made him aware of the importance of good mental and physical health in our lives. As someone who is active himself, he has always sought to interview (on both radio and on stage) specialists in the field of health and wellbeing and is never afraid to ask the pertinent questions. As a result he is well able to make informed contributions, especially in the area of Men’s Health – a cause he supports in many ways.
