Hype Band Who We Are:
Featuring the best of Sydney’s musical finest, Hype Band is Australia’s premiere event band.
Fronted by Sydney’s leading female vocalist Lara Parker Kent and Hype Duo’s lead vocalist Greg Weir, there is no better act in Sydney’s music scene. Our instrumental lineup includes; lead guitar, drums, bass and back up vocals.
Our sets are made up of the best classic rock, 80’s 90’s & NOW songs with special attention paid to playing songs other than just the usual wedding “staples.” We collaborate with our clients to create a unique set list that is reflective of their tastes, and which will serve as the perfect fit for their event
We will work with you to make the music at your event exactly as you have envisioned and we are always happy to accommodate special requests. We are a great choice for those that want a band that’s memorable and refreshingly different from the rest.

- We are able to cater for all elements of your wedding We recommend an acoustic duo for your ceremony, acoustic duo/trio for your dinner music at your reception and then the four piece for your party music.
- We look after all aspects of your wedding music including the coordination of the entrance music into the reception of the bridal party.
- We have gear! We bring all of the required production including a large PA system and stage lighting. For events with greater than 200 guests we can organise and supply a large PA/Lighting and operators.
- We are experienced! This young energetic group of musicians collaboratively have over 50 years experience in the music industry and have qualifications in music/audio engineering and event management. Don’t risk your big day on amateurs.

Greg Weir (Lead Singer) is an acomplished singer/guitarist who has worked professionally as both an original artist and as a covers musician. His high energy and stage presence makes him perfect for filling the dancefloor as well as performing soft dinner music tunes to add a special touch to any event.
Mick (Lead Guitarist) has worked professionally as a guitarist for over 10 years and has worked with a number of professional acts performing at the Sydney Opera House/ The Sydney Convention Centre and on Sydney Cruise Ships.
