Sam McCool is a rare commodity as a comedian/MC on the Australian speakers’ circuit.
Sam McCool is a true chameleon.
Best known for his comedy performances in the finals of Australia’s Got Talent 2012, and his soldout
solo show “Multiple Personality Distorter” at the Sydney Opera House, he is also an
accomplished actor, voice over artist and corporate event MC.
As a comedian on Australia’s Got Talent, he convinced the nation that he was consecutively Kiwi,
then Irish, Indian, English, Scottish and Lebanese. He’s previously performed live as a Scotsman in
Scotland, an Indian in India, and a Mexican in the USA!
Sam has performed at comedy venues the world over including Edinburgh Fringe Festival,
Melbourne Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, the famous Gotham City Comedy Club in
New York City, the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, as well as venues throughout Canada, USA,
Switzerland, UK, France, Bali, Vietnam, Hong Kong, New Zealand and more.
As an emcee, Sam has hosted large events for up to 2000 people, ranging from the Macedonian
Film Festival, the Bali International Fashion Show, countless Gala Dinners, Awards Nights, Corporate
Trivia, Corporate Golf Days etc for clients including 3M, Australia Post, AMP Bank, Lloyds Bank,
Commonwealth Bank, the Australian Retail Industry Awards, the Victorian Perioperative Nursing
Group, the Australian Arab Business Network, the Australian Local Government Association, and
As an actor, he has starred as “Enzo“ in the Australian feature film “DAGS”, played a villain called
“Crocodile Man” in an Indonesian soap opera in Bahasa Indonesia, Captain Jack Sparrow at
Disneyland Paris in French, and as a hoaxer managed to create and perform live characters from an
Indian Corporate Cultural consultant to a Greek Government Cultural Attache, pulling the latter off
very convincingly over a 4 day conference in Vietnam.
As a writer, Sam has written for ABC’s Glasshouse, co-wrote feature film script “Lighten Up” and is
currently co-creator a new sitcom series of his own.
There are truly few more around than Sam McCool… Sam’s versatility comes from having travelled
to nearly 60 countries, speaking 3 languages fluently, and engaging people from York to New York,
Paris to Paraguay and Invercargill to Inverness!
There are few more global citizens on this planet who have an intrinsic ability to engage, enrich and
entertain any audience with his performances. Search Sam McCool on You Tube, Facebook or
Linked In to see his latest clips and adventures, or better still book him soon to see him live!
Sam appeared twice through the evening and he left the audience wanting more. His accents are totally believable and since him appearing at the dinner, I have had only positive feedback and many asking “so where does he really come from & what is his real accent?”
W have had some of our members ask to have him perform again.
The SBC would certainly recommend Sam. He was very professional to work with and certainly delivered the performance we needed on the night.

On 24th August 2011 I engaged Sam McCool on behalf of the HTAN Management
Committee to entertain at our annual dinner, which was held at a Newcastle TAFE
campus. Unfortunately the comedian‘s main tool of trade, the microphone, was not
provided and Sam was interrupted several times in the middle of his act by wellmeaning
TAFE students, who were responsible for the overall staging of the dinner.
Nevertheless, Sam delivered a superb show regardless. His ability to channel
numerous international alter-egos was amazing and he kept the audience guessing
all night about his real nationality. His choice of material was hilarious yet
inoffensive, which is no mean feat.
It’s always a challenge to find a comedian that is equally at home doing a pub gig,
conference or a corporate dinner. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Sam
McCool to anyone as our audience was delighted on the night and the organising
Committee felt that he delivered in spades. B. Wiltshire
I am writing to recommend the services of Sam McCool, Stand-Up Comedian andD. Scholtes
Corporate MC. Sam was the event MC and comedian for our Annual State Conference
held at Flemington 29th/30th July 2011. Sam was MC and moderator for the education
sessions run for our delegates and also closed the Conference with a hilarious stand-up
Sam was well prepared for the event in both background research for the MC/Moderating
roles and also incorporating themes from our nursing profession and the conference into
his stand-up routine.
It was a pleasure to work with Sam and I would highly recommend him to other
organisations as either MC or Comedian as he certainly helped make our conference a
I, Jo Wazzi, of Swanz Event Management and Exhibitions, have assigned Mr. Makhoul to Emcee andJ. Wazzi

The AABN Board and guests were very impressed by his presentation; and most certainly would use

Property Investment Research has held an annual conference since the early 1990s with a
focus on bringing together property fund managers and investors from Australia and
globally. For the first time in October 2012, we decided to go international and hold it in
the spectacular setting of Queenstown, New Zealand. For such a breathtaking setting, and
with considerable investment into an overseas conference, we needed an emcee to match
Sam McCool came strongly recommended and then meeting him in person, I feltD. Pillutla
comfortable that he could handle the strong personalities in attendance>Gala Dinner.
Not only did Sam conduct himself professionally, in the emcee role, but his stand up
comedy section was a highlight of the conference. He performed two sets, learning enough

He carefully and selectively picked out all the people we had suggested could handle a little
and tread the line of good taste beautifully while keeping people roaring
with laughter the whole time. Overall an endearing performance.
Sam is the kind of emcee who is wonderful to have join you on an overseas conference as
he is not only happy to emcee the event, and perform tailored comedy, but he is also very
sociable outside the conference room, and even funnier when the group is out socialising.
As an indication of how well he connected to them, post-conference many of the delegates
requested his details to host their own events in future. I would gladly recommend Sam for

In 2012 & 2013, DCA Worldwide contracted Sam McCool on behalf of the Canadian
Tourism Commission, to host 10 trade exposition events throughout Australia.
The events were creatively styled in the format of a live television talk-show, with Sam
playing a David Letterman style host. Each event lasted for up to 2 hours, so Sam had the
tricky task to warm up the audience with a humourous monologue, then interview each of
the 17 presenters about their product, whilst linking each presentation and format
With events in all 5 Australian capital cities, it required a demanding schedule of early
morning flights, short turnarounds and the ability to cooperate and coordinate with over 17
different presenters and adapting to their individual presenting styles.
Sam was initially chosen for his previous tourism experience and knowledge of Canadian
culture but also for his unique comedic ability to win over a travel trade audience who
attend many similar functions.
His hours of detailed script preparation, creative ideas and development with the event
producer and his friendly disposition endeared him to all of our presenters, earning him a
recall 2 years in a row.
Above all, we enjoyed high attendance levels, great feedback from attendees and the envy
of our competitors in creating a creative showcase for our travel products and services.
Sam McCool was an integral part of the whole process and we thank him for his dedication
to it’s success. He comes highly recommended for clients holding similar multi-day, multilocation
events where more is required than just another event emcee.

We were fortunate enough to come across Sam McCool as a comedian for our
charity fundraising event Ten Stars, to raise money for the Oncology Children’s Foundation
on Saturday 27th August 2011 at Bondi Social.
Lucky for us Sam, is not just a comedian, he’s a ‘Master of Atmosphere’ and a ‘Mood Changer’.
Without a doubt it was Sam’s words, wit and charm that relaxed the crowd, lifted the atmosphere
so that every single person in the room was in stitches of laughter.
I can safely say, that after Sam performed we noticed a huge spike in the level of raffle ticket
sales and silent auction bidding on the evening. I am certain that Sam’s entertainment set the
mood for the crowd on the night that resulted in us raising $20,000 for this wonderful cause.
Weeks after the event I still have clients and guests commenting on how great ‘that Sam comedian
was’ and if he ‘Does he do corporate gigs? I’d like him to do ours’. One guest on the evening
(who spent a lot of money on a few silent auction prizes) said ‘Sam was great, he addressed everyone
in the room, no-one felt left out. He has to be the funniest comedian I have ever seen’.
I have no hesitation in recommending Sam McCool to anyone wanting to leave a lasting and
memorable impression on their guests.
We’ll be hiring Sam Mc Cool again next year for our event, without a doubt.
