“I asked Patrick to prepare a concert of 12 preludes that I had written for piano. There was not a huge amount of time for Patrick to prepare the music, but he met that challenge easily. The music was quite complex at points, but required sensitivity as well. I was very happy with his performance, to say the least. When a person is playing original music one never knows what the result will be. Patrick played with strength and a great amount of passion. There was no sense that this was a ‘wooden’ performance. It was a pleasure to entrust some original compositions to his interpretation.”
