Biography

Starting his career performing jazz standards in high school and in local bars when he was underage, the last few years have seen Rhys develop his own sophisticated style. Song- writing, recording, producing and performing his own material as well as putting his spin on a wide collection of famous covers, he follows in the footsteps of his musical influences including John Legend, Chris Martin, Guy Sebastian,John Mayer and many more.

Jumping on tables and singing to his parents’ friends since he was five years old, whether the gig is in front of five or five thousand people, Rhys just loves to perform whilst interacting with his audience.

Rhys rose to National stardom at the age of 17 when he was chosen as a Finalist on Channel 7’s Australia’s Got Talent.

At the age of 24, Rhys has already performed at a number of venues around the country, including corporate and public events including awards nights, food & wine festivals, Carols by Candlelight, burlesque balls, conferences, company events, anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, Christmas parties, New Years Eve functions, cocktail parties and private house parties.

Writing since the tender age of 15, he has collaborated on-stage and in studio with identities such as CDB, Jason Singh, Mark Gable (Choirboys), Dragon, Ian Moss, Peter Cupples, Andrew De Silva, Erin Holland, Marcia Hines and has recorded with many producers.

In 2018, Rhys has been a judge on the Channel 7 hit-show, ‘All Together Now’ alongside 99 other industry professionals including Ronan Keating, Rhonda Burchmore, Kellie Crawford and more. Rhys resides in Melbourne, where he is well- known for performing intimately with an Acoustic Guitar & a Loop Pedal, performing from behind a piano or with a 5-Piece Band.
