The Intrepid Hounds Funk & Soul Band

Funk soul Band the Intrepid hounds are an exciting & enigmatic group of musicians performing funk-driven arrangements of RnB and soul. The Hounds ignite the dance floor with an energetic gumbo of New Orleans and Chicago Funk. Led by American vocalist John Toney, this band is a class act not to be missed!

JT Vocals and Percussion

John Toney is originally from Chicago Illinois USA. John has recorded with some of the best, Stevie Wonder. George Benson. Al Green and Earth Wind and Fire.

RON Guitar & Vocals

Ron is a session musician, Producer, Studio Recording Engineer, teacher and has worked live his entire guitar playing life.

He has worked with Stylus, George Benson, Lee Ritenour, Ike & Tina Turner, Average White Band, Tina Arena, Kool and the Gang, Boz Scaggs, Thelma Houston, Russell Morris. Ross Wilson. Daryl Braithwaite, Vanessa Amorosi ,The 5th Dimension, Renee Geyer, John Farnham & Tommy Emanuel.

Joe Hiltz Bass & Vocals

Joe has been playing bass for 30 years. He has recorded with artist’s such as Cameron Daddo (US, AUD) Ross Nicholson (Melb) The Interpreters Funk Band (Melb) Geoff Wright (AUD) Fast Eddy Wilkinson (UK) & Keith Nolan (BKK Thailand) .

When Joe returned from new Orleans in 2003 . His Love of Funk music led him to play with like minded musicians to form The Interpreters & recently forming The Intrepid Hounds an R&B jazz Soul/ Funk outfit

Dave Keyboards

Dave has been a professional musician for over 30 years. He was a member of Melbourne cover bands Network, Adore and Adoration on The Gospel Train.

He is a highly sought after freelance keyboard player and has been engaged on countless recording sessions for TV jingles and artists albums eg Tina Arena & Wayne Jones.

Kevin Vocals & Drums

Kevin showed signs of playing talent at 5 years of age. He’s played in reception bands since the age of 11! Since then bands that Kevin has played with include: John Paul Young, Peter Cupples Band, Tina Arena, Craig McLachlan and Venetta Fields.

Kevin teaches privately and does clinics featuring his playing and singing. He is sponsored by Yamaha drums and Sabian cymbals and does demonstrations for Roland electric drum equipment.
