Biography

The Violets

The Violets – Hayley and Gillian are a duo that have formed through friendship, music, performing, talking all things girl power and just loving to sing. Both of these in demand vocalists create a 90’s pop and RnB vibe, whilst getting everyone involved and generally having a great time!!

Hayley is a seasoned performer- as a professional dancer she has worked for artists such as Ricki Lee, Samantha Fox, John Paul Young, Rick Springfield and Kate Cebrano to name a few. She has had roles in Australian touring musicals such as; Boy from Oz, Guys and Dolls and A Chorus Line. Hayley has sung backing vocals for Anthony Callea and James Reyne on his album Thirteen, and toured with him as a backing vocalist.

Gillian is a trained actress and singer from the Box Hill institute, Victoria. Early on in her career, she was accepted into the Brooklyn Music School, New York. During this time Gillian recorded with members of The Dap Kings. In Melbourne she sings at venues such as Transport Bar, Vineyard, First floor and World bar to name a few. She performs with members of Electric Empire and the Baker Boys and Saskwatch. Also a vocalist for Stones at Yarra Valley and Melbourne club, Melbourne.
