Biography

Sub Bourdon was a funky little duo put together by Gav Bell Several Years Ago. He came up with the Idea of adding Bass Guitar/Female Voice to his already powerful Solo Acoustic Guitar /Vocal Style. Gav Plays an Acoustic Guitar through a Loop pedal, which helps him create a live Rhythm track so he can excel with Lead Guitar when needed. He also gets the beat moving with his right foot on a “Kick Drum” style pedal, and his Left foot on a Tambourine for that “Snare Drum” Sound. After watching the “Unplugged” Movement Boom through the 90’s Gav figured, what better time to give people that ever so popular sound by creating a Group that is Strictly Live with no Music Stands or Backing Tracks.

With Gav’s wife Sandy Bell joining him on Bass Guitar & Vocals, not only does the warm sound of her Bass Guitar work perfectly, but with her adding that second soft “Lisa Mitchell” Style voice gives Sub Bourdon that perfect Blend. Gav and Sandy can cover Large events and although what seems like a small group, they have quite a big sound. Sub Bourdon can also go the other way by dropping it right down to cater for even your quietest of Dining Crowds. With a large mixed repertoire of cover songs from the 60’s to some of today’s classics; they create such a happy, fun atmosphere which gives them an edge like no others! Sub Bourdon has been performing professionally at Functions, Weddings, Corporate Events & Pubs/Clubs for the last 18 years.

Having played on several outings with Artists, Col Elliott, Renee Geyer, Glenn Shorrock, Thelma Housten & Doug Parkinson to name a few and supporting acts such as The Temptations, Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, Mental as Anything, Daryl Braithwaite, Joe Camilleri, Ross Wilson, James Reyne, Billy Thorpe, Ian Moss, Evermore, Mark Seymour, Killing Heidi, Spider bait, Brian Cadd, Jon Stevens, The Choirboys, Dave Gleeson, Gangajang, Taxi ride, Kevin Borich, The Radiators & The Screaming Jets, throw in some Jamming with Phil Emmanuel and even a Shannon Noll End of Tour Party, These experiences with such successful musicians has made them the performers they are today!
