Biography

Robert R is a world-class vocalist and musician originally from Indianapolis, USA. He studied opera in Vienna and earned a master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the number-one-ranked vocal school in the United States: The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

His first band, Sure Thing, rose quickly to popularity after winning the Big Man on Campus Competition – the largest fundraiser at Indiana University. This was followed by

another win at the Indianapolis Battle of the Bands, which led to Sure Thing headlining at the largest annual event on the Indianapolis Canal and receiving commercial radio play. Following in the footsteps of John Mellencamp, Kings of Leon, and Mumford & Sons, the band secured a residency at the iconic Bluebird in Bloomington Indiana. After performing as front man for Sure Thing, Robert played all over Los Angeles as a solo artist for four years, performing regularly in high-profile weddings, corporate events, and historic LA venues.

This highly trained and well-rounded musician is equally comfortable singing the classical ballads of Josh Groban or the modern pop of Ed Sheeran. Robert makes use of his extensive training and performing to deliver an unforgettable musical experience.

Testimonials

Robert is quite the charmer, and his voice matches his demeanor. Anyone who loves soulful singing will enjoy his music.

Eva Cantillo ~ The Equal Ground Los Angeles

I met Robert when he played at Thunderfest Music Festival in downtown Covina. I organized the bands that year, and Robert was the only solo act to perform. I watched him mesmerize the crowd with just his guitar and voice. He has an unbelievable stage presence and ability to connect with his audience.

Jeff Johnson ~ Event Planner

Robert’s vocals and songs are comparable 1970’s hit makers, but with an added modern twist. His lyrics can be deep, but never dark, and his delivery is always subtle and uplifting.

Joanne Ledesma ~ San Gabriel Valley Music Magazine

Robert far surpassed all of my expectations. I asked him to learn (for sentimental reasons) some unusual songs for our wedding. I even asked him to perform a song from a Pixar short in which I had modified the lyrics to fit our love story. Robert sang each song beautifully, and his arrangements blew me away. He is truly a master of putting his own spin on everything he does and making everything fit together perfectly.

Bill Delvac ~ Groom

Robert can charm an audience of every age. Not only is he tall, dark, and handsome – he is well spoken, polite, and has a beautiful voice. A professional in every sense of the word.”
