Rob Malandra – DJ for your Event, Wedding or Party

From his humble beginnings back in 1990 Rob Malandra (aka Robbie A) began his career Djing at numerous house parties around Melbourne. 16 years on Rob Malandra is still sure to impress many clubbers on the dance floor with heavy highlights of boogie disco/house and working in some of Melbourne’s coolest venues like 1st Floor, Precinct, Whisky Bar, Portsea Hotel, Half Moon, KGB, Mint, QBH, Palace, High Society, Velvet Lounge, Chasers and Inflation.

Rob has also worked along side with some of Melbourne’S finest DJ like: Dirty South, Micky B, Billy Disco, Dean D, Michael T, Phil G, Dean Cherny (Dirty Laundry) & Mark James. Working at some of the most extravagant private parties hosted by some of Australia’s best sporting and television celebrities, Rob is continually commended for making the event a major success.

Furthermore he has performed for some of Melbourne’s biggest corporate events like: Britney Spears (Curious!) Perfume Launch- Australian Film Industry (AFI) Awards- Australia On Collins Fashion Event- ANZ- Spotlight- Nike- KPMG- Melbourne City Council- Liberty Oil- Olympic Games (Last Lap)- Vodafone. Having been a huge fan of sexy vocal house with elements of funky disco, Rob is heavily influenced by the likes of: Full Intention, MAW, Grant Nelson, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Oliver Cheetham, Kool & The Gang (1970 onwards), Lakeside, Frankie Knuckles, Sylvester, Stevie Wonder, Carl Bean, Larry Levin, Chic, Brothers Johnston, Earth Wind & Fire, Quincy Jones, The JB’s, Grandmaster Flash, Fatback Band, DJ Shadow, Grover Washington Jr, Bob Sinclar, Joey Negro, Loleatta Holloway, Salsoul Label, Deep Dish, Rodger Sanchez & Freemasons. Rob can also perform with vocalist Shirley Davis (see below).
