Mark Mitchell is undoubtedly one of Australia’s finest comedy performers.

Work in advertising and writing copy for almost a year led to Mark’s first television appearance in a sketch on the late-night comedy program, The Eleventh Hour. Screened on Channel 7, the cast included Steve Vizard and Maryanne Fahey.

Not long after The Eleventh Hour, Mark appeared in various television dramas including The Petrov Affair, The Sword Of Honour and Willing And Abel..

The success of The Comedy Company brought Mark Mitchell – larger than life – into the homes of all Australians.

His character portrayal of a Greek fruiterer named Con, endeared him to many Australians and also the Greek community.

The popularity of Con The Fruiterer led him to become the first comedy character to don the crown, King of Moomba.
As well as constant appearances as Con and Marika, Mark has been regular guest on Australian television.
