Biography
Rarely do you see such a complete musician as Jali Buba. Born in The Gambia and a local of Malmsbury Victoria.
Jali is a hereditary musician from a West African griot, playing kora since the age of 10. He comes from the famous Kuyateh family of Medina Wandifa where all his brothers sing, dance and play kora. He has recently been working with Nigel MacLean on ‘Mandinkan meets Melbourne’; a cross cultural collaboration exploring the kora-violin musicianship of the two FilmHarmonix artists.
