Biography

Soprano Carrie Barr has played many leading roles in Australian productions over the last 30 years including ‘Les Miserables, ‘Cats’, Mary Poppins, ‘Hair’ and ‘Dusty Springfield Story’. Some Opera Australia credits include ‘Carmen’, ‘La Boheme’, ‘The Pearl Fishers’,’Turandot’, ‘Aida’, ‘Otello’, ‘Madama Butterfly’, ‘Marriage of Figaro and ‘Tosca’. Carrie has also appeared as a regular on Neighbours playing the role of Jenny McKenna and was Musical Director for Shaun Micallef’s show ‘Pleasure of their Co.”

Bass-baritone Paul Hughes moves with ease between the genres of opera, musical theatre, oratorio, art song, baroque and contemporary music. Paul has performed as a principal artist for Opera Australia, Oz Opera, Cameron Macintosh, Really Useful Group, Production Company, Chamber Made Opera, Operalive, Co Opera, Stopera, Promac and The Australian Ballet’s. He has also been a soloist for The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

Mezzo Soprano Caroline Vercoe is known for her vocal richess, expressive and powerful voice, affecting layers of emotion with gentle ease. Caroline has performed various roles for Victoria Opera, Melbourne Opera and Opera Australia including Olga in Eugene Onegin, Carmen and Mercedes in Carmen, Inez in Il Trovatore, Mayors Wife in Jenufa and Mother Jeanne in Dialogue of the Carmelites. On the concert platform Caroline has been a soloist for the Tasmanian, Darwin and Sydney Symphony Orchestras.
