Jason is renowned for his soulful twist on everything he touches, from national anthem duties for the AFL first preliminary final 2014 at the MCG, to the VFL Grand Final 2015 and his regular appearances at the NBL Melbourne United matches. Jason has shared the stage alongside International touring acts on numerous occasions. Such as: BoyzIIMen, Jermaine Jackson, Jill Scott, Olly Murs, Craig David and much more. In 2001 Jason’s first involvement in an original band called ‘Supernatural’ had him living in L.A. where he gained invaluable experiences in some of L.A’s most renowned recording studios – Ocean Way Studios on Sunset Boulevard being one of them. In his hometown of Melbourne, Australia Jason has built up a rapport over the years as being one of the most
regularly featured drummer or percussionist/vocalist for an array of artists such as: Guy Sebastian, Disco Montego, C.D.B., Wanya Morris, Charles Neville, Marcia Hines, Jon Stevens and many more.
Jason has frequently performed on Australian television shows such as: The Singing Bee, Australia’s Got Talent, Molly Meldrum’s Countdown, Hey Hey its Saturday and of course X- Factor. Jason also performed on Asian talent show ‘Sutasi’ filmed in Singapore. In 2010 Jason found himself co-writing and co-producing projects such as his original band Electric Empire, who independently completed an original self titled album. The singles ‘Yes I Will’ & ‘Changin’ have had the support of triple j radio and triple j unearthed in Australia. Their first video performance of the first single ‘Baby Your Lovin’ reached over 100,000 views on YouTube. They’ve supported London based acid jazz giants Brand New Heavies, Mayer Hawthorne and the county from Detroit U.S.A, Bilal from Brooklyn NYC and also most loved New Zealand based band Fat Freddys Drop on their first national tours of Australia. Electric Empire performed three shows at the world famous Glastonbury Festival and were one of the support acts on the Beverly Knight tour in the UK along with OMAR in 2011. Jason’s
experience in the music industry has also seen him fly to New York to personally audition and attain the role as percussionist & backing vocalist for Maxwell’s band for the ‘Black Summers Night Tour’ in 2010.
Jason has an extended passion in the studio for which he aspires to produce and co-write a lot more with other artists worldwide in 2016. He is consistently called to take on new projects and sessions at his own Heerah St. Studios in Melbourne. The hit Single ‘Seggae Paradise’ feat Zulu released summer of 2015 was nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ in Mauritius and also did a featuring and co write on the 2016 hit ‘Emporte’ from the album Mo Recompanse
Lin and Otentik Groove also in Mauritius. Jason has always been proud of his Mauritian heritage, the culture and music that stems from Mauritius and feels a strong connection there. He is a songwriter, producer, musician and an artist in his own right. His Debut Album ‘Chasing Love’ through his label JHRecords was launched in his hometown of Melbourne in April 2016. The album features International singers and songwriters throughout Sri Lankan songstress UMA-RIA, David Ryan Harris L.A. based producer/guitarist/songwriter, Rudy Melbourne and L.A. based producer/songwriter and was produced in Melbourne Australia with highly respected producer Dorian West from Sci- Sonic Studios Melbourne. Chasing love has currently a distribution deal through BBQ Records in
Japan. The first single Save Me made it’s appearance on YouTube early April and was well received on social media and also received local radio support and some great reviews online with support from Timberland Australia and Politix Australia. The official video clip for Chasing Love is sponsored by Island Music Label from France and set to be shot in Mauritius later this year 2016. ‘Save Me’ and ‘Chasing Love’ has been added to Westfield Australia, Myer, Coles playlist.
