Biography
Darren is an accomplished Jazz Pianist from Melbourne. Darren Archer has gained a reputation as a formidable pianist and composer both in Melbourne and Sydney, where he studied with Mike Nock and Judy Bailey.
He was a semi-finalist in The National Jazz Awards (2006), and released his own debut album of originals, Secret World (on NewMarket) in 2004 to critical acclaim. He won the 2013 APRA/MJFF composer commission, and performed the work, “Drunken Taxicabs of Absolute Reality” , at the Melbourne Jazz Fringe Festival.
He performs with his Trio featuring Ben Robertson (bass) and Kieran Rafferty (drums).
