Cherrylane is a 7 piece disco, soul, funk, & dance music band that formed in 1996. They have been playing on the professional music scene in Tasmania regularly ever since. The band’s extensive songlist contains tunes from the 1930’s through to the present day, ranging from ‘laid back’ jazz to 60’s soul, 70’s disco hits and dance tracks of the present day.
Cherrylane are renowned for their high energy shows and the enthusiastic response that they receive from their audiences. The band creates this infectious energy through their high level of professionalism and from the sound of a seven piece band. This, along with their carefully selected song-list & specially crafted sound brings you a unique & fantastic show.
Cherrylane have two talented lead vocalists, Kalo Lowe & Kim Sellers, who front the band. Kalo & Kim’s powerful vocal harmonies & dynamic choreography combine to give the songs new energy & life. Both girls sing lead vocals which vary the flavour of the show and give each song an independent feel due to their differing voices.
The Cherrylane rhythm section is top class. Combining Liam O’Leary on drums & percussion and Rod Lowe on Bass Guitar, they bring nearly 45 yrs of live music playing experience to the stage. Joining the rhythm section is Steve Grahame and Charles Holyman on Keyboards and Guitar respectively. These two bring the band years of live music experience and are both highly respected in their fields. Scott Cashion is Cherrylane’s Saxophone player and is one of the best sax player in the state for this type of band. Scott also plays electronic Saxophone.
Cherrylane list of corporate functions include The Hobart Cup, The Taste of Tasmania, Microsoft and Westpac national and international conferences to name but a few.
Due to their dynamic sound they are a hot favourite at weddings & celebrations and have also played regularly at various live public venues.
