Melbourne’s Blue Note Collective blend musical textures of 1950’s R&B, Soul, Blues and Jazz to create a unique infusion of melody, roots rhythms and urban grooves.
The Blue Note Collective deliver the best of 1940’s swinging jazz, old school 1950’s R &B, soul and blues direct from legends including Etta James, Nina Simone and Ray Charles through to contemporary artists such as Amy Winehouse. Masterfully creating a tasty and soulful musical gumbo, the Blue Note Collective add their own unique spices, groovy garnish and special swingin’ sauce to the mix of roots flavours on offer.
Raising the heat through energetic and passionate performance; the Blue Note Collective are a musical treat best served with friends on your favourite dance floor.
On stage the Blue Note Collective seeks to connect with the audience through honest performance, individual and band improvisation and meaningful song interpretation. The aim is to entertain and involve an audience, but at heart it is about sharing stories in word and music and moving an audience spiritually and (hopefully) physically!
