Biography

Australian duo Bachelor Girl have reunited for the release of their greatest hits album, Loved & Lost: The Best of Bachelor Girl (Sony Music) and are now available for corporate performances and special events. Bachelor Girl will perform such hits as Permission To Shine, I’m Just A Girl & Buses & Trains along with some of their favourite cover classics. Bachelor Girl can perform in acoustic mode or with full band. Bachelor Girl, comprising vocalist Tania Doko and keyboardist/producer James Roche, created waves in the local and international music scenes in 1998 with their debut single Buses And Trains, taken from the double platinum-selling album Waiting For The Day which claimed the 1998 ARIA Award for Best Producer. They secured pop icon status in 1999, when Buses And Trains won the APRA Award for Song of the Year and became PPCA’s Most-Played Song on Australian radio, and continued to turn heads as the debut record spawned a further four smash hit singles including Treat Me Good and Permission To Shine.
2002’s follow-up release Dysfunctional saw the band remain on an upward trajectory, featuring hits I’m Just A Girl and Drowning Not Waving. Both Doko and Roche return to Australian shores for the Loved & Lost tour, after taking a lengthy overseas hiatus; Doko has been based in LA and Stockholm for the past six years, with Roche spending time in London. The pair is delighted to be back on home turf, and they’re gearing up for a run of gigs that will showcase new Bachelor Girl tunes alongside old favourites to fans across the country. Based in VIC, travels Australia wide (extra fees involved).
