Biography

Aerialist Kate

Aerialist Kate experienced aerialist specialising in Aerial silks, solo and duo, rope, 2 strands of rope and also the ground act German Wheel.

Kate discovered circus as a teenager and thrived on the opportunity it presented to combine her physical training and creativity.

Kate went on to study a Bachelor of Circus Arts at the National Institute of Circus Arts Australia (NICA) where she graduated in 2013 emerging as a specialist artist in rope, tissu and German wheel.

Since graduating Kate has performed locally and internationally at various functions, festivals and on board a cruise ship. This year Kate decided to further her training with the professional course at Gravity Circus Center where she has just recently graduated majoring in rope.

Kate’s dream is to combine visual art with the physical performance of circus and she looks forward to collaborating with other performing artists and visual artists.

Aerial Rope

Single Rope 

A simple apparatus of a single rope hung from the ceiling on which Kate presents a dynamic act of impressive drops, strength and flexibility

Double Rope

Is a unique aerial apparatus, which consists of two strands of rope which Kate uses to gracefully balance, execute heart-stopping tumbles and create stunning imagery in the air.

AERIAL TISSU

Effortless, Fluid, Graceful

Aerial Tissu also known as Aerial Silks is an act in which Kate uses  two strands of fabric hung from the ceiling to climb, bend, twist and tumble creating a beautiful dance in the air.

German Wheel

An exciting and dynamic act as Kate weaves, turns and flips in and out of the large metal wheel. The constant movement of the wheel along with Kate’s grace and elegance inside it creates a truly mesmerizing experience.

OTHER SKILLS

Kate  is multi talented performer with experience in aerial silks, aerial rope, double rope, German wheel, acrobatics, tightwire, trapeze, fire fans, bungee, dance.

Kate is always adding to this list by learning new skills and collaborating with other artists.
