Biography

Shane Jacobson is an Australian award winning actor. Better known for his warm and charismatic portrayal of the ‘fairdinkum Aussie bloke’, Kenny. Shane Jacobson won the 2006 AFI Award for Best Lead Actor, the 2006 Film Critics Circle of Australia Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role, the 2007 Film Ink Magazine Award for Best New Comer and won 2007 Australian Star of the Year Award at the Australian International Movie Convention. It wasn’t long until the corporate world caught onto his talent for characterisation and a quick quip, hiring him to play to huge corporate functions impersonating business icons and luminaries. In 1999 both Shane and one of his many characters Sergio appeared regularly on Melbourne’s Gold FM radio station. Shane’s focus eventually moved towards the camera acting in prominent Music Videos, Short Films and TV Commercials whilst also working for all the major TV networks as a regular audience warm up guy. He has been extremely busy the last 2 years. So far Shane has performed in the 12 week sell-out season of The Drowsy Chaperone, which also starred Geoffrey Rush, Robyn Nevin and Rhonda Burchmore, completed filming with Channel 9 as the host of their upcoming show When I Grow Up, appeared in The Apprentice, a short film for the Untitled feature, also starring Anton Yelchin and produced by Charles B. Wessler and Peter Farrelly, starred as one of the new hosts of Top Gear Australia with Steve Pizatti & Ewan Page for Channel Nine and was the host of the 2010 Samsung Australian Film Institute Awards.
Coming up for Shane in 2011 is another series of Top Gear Australia and a series of live shows, sharing the stage with UK Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James May, in Top Gear Live Australia during March. Based in VIC, travels Australia wide (extra fees involved).
