Tom Ballard a comedy veteran with sold out shows and national tours to his name.
TOPICS: MC, COMEDY
In 2009 Tom Ballard became the youngest person to ever win the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer Award for his debut stand up show. The following year he took a seat behind the microphone as the youngest ever host of the breakfast show on triple j and now, five years on, he’s a relative comedy veteran with sold out shows and national tours to his name.
Tom’s been seen on The Project, This Week Live, Can Of Worms, Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, The Melbourne Comedy Festival Oxfam Gala and It’s A Date. In 2013, after he and his on-air comrade Alex Dyson took out the ARIA for Best Comedy Release, Ballard decided to hang up the headphones to focus on his two biggest loves: stand up and sleeping.
In 2014 Tom fronted the coverage of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras for SBS 2 and hosted his very own show for ABC TV, Reality Check – a show dedicated to celebrating (and taking the piss out of) the insane inner workings of reality television.
